PETA makes me so angry.

Tweeting any sort of gore is a way to traumatize people. It doesn't create vegans out of nothing; it is an upsetting, triggering method of flexing moral superiority, like showing porn to children to make them go "ew, gross."
(And that is a thing a child psychologist actually did to me when I was nine, to prove that I had been traumatized but was still functionally "normal." Best part is, because she was paid by the state, it was somehow "okay," whereas my mother would have lost custody!)
But this is not "PETA posted a picture of a cow being butchered, or a chicken being fed into a food processor," or something gross and connected to veganism.

This was a feline dissection.
Cats are dissected or necropsied so we can learn more about a) why they died, or b) how to keep other cats with whatever condition killed them from dying in the future.
Alice was my best friend, my heart and my soul. I would burn the world to have her back with me. I signed the papers to okay dissecting her if the oncologist thought it would teach us anything about the cancer that killed her.
If you're trying to reduce animal cruelty--if that's actually your goal--traumatizing the unwary with a medical procedure that increases animal quality of life is NOT MEETING YOUR GOAL.
The world being what it is, someone who saw that picture is going to refuse to sign the dissection paperwork now, and an unnecessary medical mystery will be created. Cats may die. Maybe yours. Maybe mine.

Fuck PETA forever.
