Grant Imahara was a great man. He was a steadfast pillar of every community he was a part of. He was a caring, inspiring, massive heart who brought out the best in everyone.
He made a beautiful working BB-8 and a Baby Yoda from scratch. All he cared about was getting them to children’s hospitals and using them to spread joy to those who needed it most.
Grant bought out 2 screenings of Crazy Rich Asians in LA on opening night and invited what felt like every Asian American geek in town and instructed everyone to dress up fancy. So the first Asian rom com would have good box office numbers and so we could celebrate it in style.
His work inspired countless people. His friendship and kindness touched the lives of everyone around him. Keep his memory alive. Do good in the world, be a light in your community. Thank you for making this world better, Grant.
Please consider donating to @MagicWheelchair. The community has worked with them to “create unforgettable moments for children around the world by transforming their wheelchairs into magic.” This is like what Grant did. Engineered magic. https://www.magicwheelchair.org/donate
