using religious themes in art (including music) is totally ok as long as it is not cultural appropriation or disrespectful

biblical references are a super normal and appropriate thing to use in art, literature, and music. ex: a religious allusion used in poetry

the issue is if you are using religion in an inappropriate or disrespectful way (ex. a visual depiction of the prophet Muhammad)

also - ego is a song that references jungian philosophy, which commented a significant amount about how religion and the notion of god influences a person's psyche. the use of religious objects in the mv is completely ok, as long as they are used respectfully
