My favorite people to follow usually have one thing in common: they work in public

working in public just means you share more than your final draft.

you share the ugly first notes, challenges with your second draft, and your thought process.

sometimes there& #39;s a bit about life in there too.
Some of my favorite people doing this:

@polina_marinova from @profileread
@packyM from @notboringclub
@Ericsmithrocks at @PSLiterary
@AnkitShah with @teawstrangers
Three simple reasons I like following them:

- they think differently than I do
- they& #39;re specific about their process
- they learn out loud
Bookmark it to read in full. Here& #39;s my quick summary of the case for working in public:
Forced clarity: writing for people who aren& #39;t inside your head (aka everyone else) forces you to be as clear as possible.
Good writers are good editors: sharing in public encourages you to work through multiple revisions based on direct feedback.
compounding ideas: inspiration is usually the result of exposure to related but not-yet-connected ideas.

when you share your ideas, you& #39;re increasing the likelihood of making a connection.

I& #39;ve had countless new ideas that spun off of people sharing the one thing they learned that day.

and when you do that consistently, people notice. As @hnshah said, it& #39;s timeless: https://twitter.com/hnshah/status/1282559838954741765">https://twitter.com/hnshah/st...
The ultimate goal though, is community. A place for people and ideas to make connections: https://twitter.com/DruRly/status/1251157309943771136">https://twitter.com/DruRly/st...
TL;DR— working in public will change how you work for the better.
