This is how working-class, poor trans folks are trapped in a cycle of violence. Even if Burger King didn’t refuse her a job for being trans, they still treated her like her life was worthless.
We may have won a #SCOTUS victory for LGBTQ employees. But unless our community is treated with dignity at work, obtaining a job while being trans means little.
