1. Let me take you back to Feb. 25, 2001. It's 6:15AM, minutes before sunrise, on the Sunday before Mardi Gras. You've been partying in New Orleans, and are so inebriated that the police not only stop you (on Hillary Street), but they arrest you. Your name is Donald Trump, Jr.
2. The court record shows that the then-23-year-old son of President @realDonaldTrump was booked at 9:33am - oh to see THAT mugshot - and released the next morning on $300 bond after spending 11 hours in jail.
3. Trump Jr. entered a plea of not guilty ("PNG"). And his case came to a close on July 25, 2001, with the court documents providing a notation of "NP," which may mean "nolle prosequi," or "no further prosecution." The case appears to have been dropped for some unknown reason.
4. Not lacking a sense of irony, Don Jr. shared a tweet today from the Trump campaign, questioning whether the Biden family, including Joe Biden's son, ever exercised "their privilege and proximity to power" to avoid arrest.
5. And just two days before that, Don Jr. complained on Twitter that if the Trump family had arrests, the media would be all over it: "I imagine if this was the Trumps the media would make a big deal if it [sic]."

Yet the media hasn't been all over Don Jr's prior arrest at all.
6. In recent years, the New Orleans police have had a choice if they find you publicly drunk: They can issue a summons; or in bad cases, arrest you. As others have asked, how drunk must a young rich white kid be to get arrested in New Orleans during Mardi Gras for being drunk?
7. While Don Jr. has acknowledged he had an alcohol problem in his younger days, he continues to mock others about alcohol use and arrests.
8. A week ago, Donald Trump, Jr. was demanding, apparently without irony, that Americans "stand up for law and order" by supporting his father's re-election. Trump Jr. claimed that Democrats "don't want the rule of law."
9. Only yesterday, Don Jr. criticized the media for allegedly "not looking into" any of Biden's "history." It's unclear what Trump, Jr. was referring to, as the media hasn't been shy about taking Biden on. But perhaps, Don Jr. isn't the best messenger about the perils of history.
