Announced today...
Travel to Europe:
1/ You will not be able to to use the EU citizens fast track lane (unless you also have an Irish or other EU passport)
2/ UK passports more than 10 years old or expiring in the next 6 months will not be valid.

3/ You may need to show have a return or onward ticket and have enough money for your stay.
4/ EHIC (free medical insurance when holidaying in the EU) ends on December 31, so you will need to buy travel insurance with healthcare!
5/ You cannot take your pet with you without a permit. Allow at least 4 months for a permit.
6/ Uk citizens will lose the right to live, work or study in the EU -unless resident before 31/12/2020
7/ If you intend to stay more than 6 months you may need a visa.
8/ If you are driving, you may need a ‘green card’ or valid proof of insurance and a sticker.
9/ You may need an international driving permit in some countries.
10/ From Jan 1st, phone operator mobile providers can start charging roaming charges in Europe (check with your operator.)
For Companies:
11/ Businesses exporting or importing to/from the EU will have to complete UK and EU customs declarations.
Customs declarations are complicated, you are advised to get a Customs Intermediary.
12/ Importers and exporters to or from the EU should ensure they have registered with the relevant customs authority. You’ll need an EORI number that starts with GB.
13/ Companies must ensure that drivers have International Driving Permits before entering the EU
14/ Moving goods from the UK to the EU will be liable to VAT just like supplies moved between other countries.
HMRC estimates 200 million extra customs declarations will be required at cost of £6.5bn a year to UK businesses.
