All I ask is that the @NIAASports doesn’t cancel the season out right. Draft a plan to begin workouts in January for a spring football season. No football coach in town would disagree as long as we have a PLANNED chance to play this year. 1/
What we don’t want is a “until further notice.” To us, that means it’s not happening and it shows it is not the priority of the @NIAASports to make it happen. I say this with full understanding that this may impact other sports. 2/
An easy fix would be to move Spring sports to the fall. Baseball, Softball, Track, and Men’s Volleyball can all be played/competed socially distant. Extend the dugouts to the bleachers outside the fence. Disinfect the ball intermittently 3/
Track would have to get rid of “meets” and instead be officially timed and marked every few weeks, using http://athletic.net  to log times and determine regional and state qualifiers with the intent in running those events when we can. 4/
I don’t claim to have all the answers and some will criticize because I am a football coach and thus “only care about football” but at least I’m trying to get the ball rolling. The longer we sit on our hands, the worse the decisions will be. Make a plan and roll back as needed.
