Venus in Cancer 🦀 Thread. In my personal opinion Venus in Cancer and Venus in Taurus are two of the more simplistic less complicated Venus placements. I don’t mean this in a negative way.
Venus is the planet of attraction, appreciation and relating. It is also linked to worth -self worth & tangible worth. Remember Venus naturally corresponds with Taurus & the 2nd house “I have” & Libra & the 7th house “I relate”
We always have to take the house placement & aspects into consideration. While Venus in Cancer as a stand alone can signify deep appreciation for traditional marriage if that Venus squares/opposes/conjoins Uranus ...maybe not so much
Venus in Cancer may seek someone that fits in with their family or someone they can have a family with or someone that feels like home. Venus in Cancer is ruled by the Moon so in some capacity family and home are filtered in
Venus in cancer may be romantic and idealistic in love. They may also attract or seek out -unconsciously- relationships with parental themes so you mother the partner (not gender specific here) or you want someone that acts like the father & takes care of things
Venus in Cancer can be drawn to traditional roles in relationships unless something else is indicated. So no halfsies on dates here. 😝
Venus in Cancer may write you poetry and pack a lunch for you to go to work with. This is a doting placement. They want to make sure you are well fed and cared for. They want to set up a comfortable home and also have someone provide security. Financial and emotional
It may take awhile for Venus in Cancer to warm up and you may not even notice they are interested. I’m not talking about sexually I’m talking about relationship wise. They have to make sure you are trust worthy before they allow you to see through the hard exterior
Venus in Cancer needs a home to retreat to; some place they can nest, eat snacks, drink wine and watch romantic movies. A home base is a must
Venus in cancer has to be aware of the clinging tendencies; once you hook into someone you don’t want to let go even if they are to your own detriment. As a Cancer Sun I get it; we hardly let anyone in so when we do it’s a BIG deal. Still it hurts to hang on
You want to nurture or you want to be nurtured. You have to watch out for the tendency to expect others to intuit what you want. Learn to be more direct.
Anytime we are talking about water signs we have to watch for merging totally with someone else. Those with Venus in cancer should look into interdependence sometimes they swing to extremes on the pendulum between avoidance or enmeshment
“they may be loyal, reliably sympathetic and responsive to others’ needs or they can be so insecure and fearful that they become timid, possessive defensive and somewhat paranoid” Venus in Cancer | Stephen Arroyo
“The fear of being hurt causes some of these folks to keep a protective shell around themselves which severely blocks their natural sensitivity and capacity for intimacy”

-Stephen Arroyo
That’s what I was saying about Venus in cancer can totally merge with someone or they can be totally avoidant because of the fear of getting hurt. They need to develop moderation
