So, someone who is a close friend of a number of my own followers is still getting bullied and harassed online, to the point where she has been contemplating suicide.
This is really at the heart of the so-called "cancel culture" and social justice that has to be addressed.

It basically comes down to this: This person posted something stupid and possibly offensive here on Twitter, and then soon took it down and apologized for doing it.
And people are still harassing her over it.
And people are still harassing her over it.
This is a problem that, I'm sorry to say, too many fellow liberals I know seem to have.
They constantly demand apologies from people who say offensive things... but they don't really want to forgive.

All they really want is for someone to admit wrongdoing so they can hold that over said person from then on in order to claim moral superiority.
It seems there are too many people that would rather condemn in words people they think are bigoted against marginalized people... than actually show support and comfort to marginalized people.
Because the latter doesn't make them look strong and morally superior in their eyes.

And yes - I will admit this is something I myself have surely been guilty of.
We've all fallen prey to the Western ideal that compassion toward others is a weakness while fighting against others is strength.

This ultimately is why I have problems with the whole "social justice" mindset.
It too often comes out mostly as people wanting you to know they're better people than you because of how they supposedly think.

SJWs love to use the term "It's not always about you." But quite a few of them... They are making it about them by wanting you to think they're moral superheroes
without actually DOING anything to make the world better.

Just stop to consider this the next time you want to yell at someone online for saying something offensive: How more often do you do that rather than instead talk to and comfort someone who would supposedly be a victim of said offense?
