Geoffrey Berman was not permitted by DOJ to talk about why he was fired. But he managed to sneak it in.

Berman was willing to go if Clayton went through confirmation bc that would give ... enough time.
the investigations ... the investigations ... the investigations
They got cute on the front end which fucked them when they most wanted to fuck around.
Oops.
Castor pretends Prince Andrew was the risky witness.
Berman breaks down the whole sovereign district shit for Castor, who may genuinely not get it.
Castor lays out two corrupt cases, and then says, this corruption happens all the time, doesn't it?
Matt Gaetz forgets to add that also martians are not former AUSAs in SDNY.
Doesn't Castor understand that this is a b5 Exemption? Or, genuinely worse, privileged?
Not sure how this is a proper oversight question but Berman's dick-wagging is useful.
This is sort of an interesting non-answer.
Again they got cute on the front end and it bit them (so far) on the back end.
One of the thing that's interesting is that SDNY really DID just colossally fuck up the Nejad case, plus also fucked up the Schulte case. SDNY has had some epic fails of late. If Barr cared abt success he might have a point.
This is some pretty brilliant lawyering.
Castor tries to blame Berman for rules DOJ placed on his testimony (an increasingly common occurrence from the GOP).
Castor keeps going. It's unfair to the Attorney General that Berman adheres to policies the Attorney General's DOJ insisted on.
Castor: AG never tried to delay or influence your cases.

Berman: You mean during my entire tenure?

Castor: You provided no specific details.

Berman: My testimony was limited to the 19th and 20th.
