People, I am pleading with you.

Don't let hate eat you.

In 2016 we lost - by a tiny margin, but we did.

Latest polls show that over 60% of the country want to remain.

That was not achieved without people changing their minds.

Time did not freeze on the 23rd June 2016

The referendum was pretty much a 50/50 split

We KNOW lots regretted the next day - that some voted Leave because they wanted a close run thing.

Yes, the giant lorry park in Ashford feels like revenge

But it is OUR land - it hurts US, all of us.

We punish ourselves

My wife and all her family voted leave - they do not want to talk about politics or Brexit

Because they are embarrassed. Because they hope it will all stay the same.

We know it will not - people like me read EVERY SINGLE THING there is.

They hide from it.

Wanting vengeance is natural - we all feel it.

But it does not get us what we want.

It does not solve the issues.

And make no mistake, those in power are DELIBERATELY fermenting this feeling.

It is not fair, but we have to be better

If someone is wavering and changing their mind?

The best way to make sure they don't is to spit in their face and watch their heart harden against you.

If you want to have a better world you have to be it.

Show them it is what they want too.

It is not easy.

But it is honest and authentic.

I wrote a thread recently about the prodigal son.

The one it all hinged on was the son who remained - his ability to forgive his brother and welcome him back

So that the family could rebuild.

That's us.

This is not a new story at all.
