BREAKING: The body found in Lake Piru has been confirmed as Glee actress Naya Rivera.

The Ventura County sheriff's office is "confident" the body is Naya Rivera due to location and condition of the body.

"No indication this was a suicide or foul play," says Ventura County sheriff's office as the death of Naya Rivera.

The sheriff confirms that Naya Rivera's four-year-old son said he and "Naya swam in the lake at some point in the journey. Her son described being helped by Naya, boosting him on the deck, he looked back and saw her disappear under the surface."

"We do believe she was in the area [she was found] when she was swimming. There is heavy brush... we had our entire dive team scouring... we believe she was concealed in shrubbery on the top of the lake." #NayaRivera

Rescuers involved in the operation found the body floating near the surface of the water. It looked as if "it had been in the water several days." #NayaRivera

Confirming it is speculation, officers suggest that Naya Rivera and her son both got into trouble in the water due to riptides, but she "mustered the energy" to get her son back on board.

This is such truly tragic news. My heart goes out to Naya's family and friends, her son, and the Glee fandom, especially those for whom Santana Lopez was an influential part of coming into their sexuality.
