I want to say a few things. The whole “natice influencer” narrative. I think it’s really dangerous and so harmful for those in our community to exploit their identities and cultures to make it consumable to white audiences.

when you speak on an issue, you must acknowledge your privilige. I’m a urban native and easily have access to resources that many in my village don’t. Native people who holds such large platforms are not a spokesperson for the entire native community.

And not acknowledging that is so so harmful and contributes to the power dynamics we see in these spaces. Seeing a lot of y’all spread misinformation and speaking on things that you shouldn’t. Hold those that you keep in community with you accountable.

Lateral violence is real. We all need to do better.
