Rava dosa and vada (they have variations) South India has a whole different varieties of cuisines of their own which is different than North India
Uttapam and paniyaram
Appam stew and puttu
Pazham pori & murukku/chakli (best with beer, my drinking moots)
Sharjah shake and thandai
Dal makhni and pakoda kadhi
Litti chokha and daal bati churma
Pani puri and chat
Poha and dahi vada
Biryani and aloo paratha (both have many MANY varities)
Vada pav and bun maska
Saloni and gujiya (they have different names in different states)
Besan ke laddu and payasam/kheer
Moong dal khichdi and sabudana khichri
Dhokla and khakhra
Mathri and makhana (lotus seed pods, yes Wei Wuxian I'm looking at you)
Mal pua and modak
This isn't even tip of the iceberg, every different state have their own specialty in food and a lot of them AREN'T CURRY (shocking right?). My India moots, if I have missed something then please let me know I will add them to the thread. Apologies that I don't know more.
