The audacity of my university which pays me below a living wage and has given me EXTRA work this summer (of which I am not funded), asking me to email my fall students with previews of the *exciting* things in my class so that they don& #39;t withdraw due to online learning..
Yall don& #39;t want me emailing those students, because there is nothing exciting about this fall and I& #39;m not persuading students to keep attending. "Dear students, why spend a pandemic with your loved ones or prioritizing self-care when you could spend it with me?!"
"Forget the increased rates of COVID-19, the looming economy collapse, and the healthcare crisis with these memes and freewrites!" I& #39;m not paid to market courses; I& #39;m don& #39;t care about the university& #39;s profit. I& #39;m a grad student.
You can& #39;t treat me as expendable and then expect me to be invested in the university& #39;s success during a time of crisis. This next semester is survival and there is nothing exciting about that. #phdchat
