i& #39;m notoriously bad at giving advice but if anyone has questions abt how i grew my audience, feel free to ask?!?! i& #39;ll try my best to answer some... i& #39;m just not sure what advice has already been handed out 100 times ha

(Guess I& #39;ll thread these??) It felt v explosive to me. I noticed the growth when i started posting art (and INFO) about my ocs back in 2016, and ppl kept asking about them on tumblr! https://twitter.com/SillyScrunchles/status/1282720125880328192?s=19">https://twitter.com/SillyScru...
Then every time I& #39;d reach a follower milestone, I& #39;d make an art giveaway post ("RT/reblog this for a chance to get free art") and every time i did, my numbers would LEAP
I started LE when i finally had a stable job (a job with a tablet and not much work to do, so i could sneaky work on LE there lol). I tried once doing a webcomic while struggling financially w/o good income n it was RIDICULOUSLY HARD https://twitter.com/BARABEASTS/status/1282720543741898752?s=19">https://twitter.com/BARABEAST...
The writing and style thing is mostly just practice and hard work (assuming you& #39;re in a place that& #39;s possible obvs), and useful advice for growing style-wise is easier given individually rather than generally!! Ask people you TRUST for critique!
Your mileage may vary but for me personally, tags haven& #39;t helped me on Twitter besides TRENDING tags (drawingwhileblack, mermay, meettheartist etc. Those are GREAT). This is also what ive noticed for peers too! https://twitter.com/maxxd_art/status/1282720091621089280?s=19">https://twitter.com/maxxd_art...
Google what times in ur timezone the platforms are most active (tho it& #39;s kind of all the time rn, thanks quarantine). Think abt cropping! Long vertical pics might auto-crop weird! Twit cropping also focuses on faces n text so- https://twitter.com/BuriedAliensArt/status/1282724381379231746?s=19">https://twitter.com/BuriedAli...
Try testing out ur art tweets on a priv account first. I use assloads of tags on IG, 5ish on tumblr, n only occasional trending hashtags on Twitter. Think about "reblogability" on tumblr. Ppl are more likely to reblog pics w short descriptions, that are aesthetically pretty.
Links in tweets will make ur tweet not show up to as many followers, so put links in reply. Commenting/being active in general will also get u rewarded by the algorithm on twit n IG
SIDE NOTE ONLY KINDA RELATED: watermark your art with your USERNAME don& #39;t just write your first name, write what someone would search to find your accounts!! put it somewhere non-obstructive but not easily cropped out by thieves!! esp on fanart u draw...please.....

IG loves frequency/consistency, the more often u post, the more merciful the algorithm. i had a big backlog of art so i uploaded something every hr or so. Then every day, every few days, etc. but the more often the better! https://twitter.com/byelacey/status/1282722478888976384?s=20">https://twitter.com/byelacey/...
ALSO if you scroll past a post once on IG, the next time you scroll past it it& #39;ll be the second slide (if you have multiple). try putting close-ups/crops, sketches, etc in the same post. i think multiple imgs do better than singles there maybe??
both of these methods will get u more attention/followers, there& #39;s no denying that. just make sure it& #39;s stuff you do enjoy drawing bc as corny as it sounds, ppl can tell when you enjoyed drawing something. we can Sense the Good Vibes Bro https://twitter.com/fruitydabeetle/status/1282747444888051712?s=20">https://twitter.com/fruitydab...
ahh ok so. bc i have a webcomic and apparently make shit ppl wanna pay for, i started my patreon and was able to quit my job to work on my comic. money was a big motivation. that& #39;s not realistic for everyone so im not sure how much help that is Q__Q BUT https://twitter.com/persephinnie/status/1282734695504138241?s=20">https://twitter.com/persephin...
one trick that& #39;s worked for me is having a backlog of art. i have lots of junk hoarded that i havent posted yet rn. i schedule posts sometimes so it LOOKS like i& #39;m drawing all the time on social media, but one good week of drawing could be multiple weeks of posting
WELL being medicated helps. but i still struggle to stay focused a lot. i think this one comes down mostly to mental health unfortunately! for me personally, i need to have snacks and a drink and something to watch/listen to while i work or i go nuts lol https://twitter.com/briltonmadley/status/1282727289290199041?s=20">https://twitter.com/briltonma...
the power of Friendship. if your work isn& #39;t getting attention online, get some pals that are in the same boat. join a small artist discord server maybe?? when i was starting out, my friends motivated me a lot! (and still do!) https://twitter.com/kaalashnikova/status/1282733527948296198?s=20">https://twitter.com/kaalashni...
