Never have I hated a photo of myself more and it’s the feature photo of a @washingtonpost story!! It do be like that (a thread) https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2020/07/13/college-health-centers-problems/?arc404=true">https://www.washingtonpost.com/investiga...
Jokes aside, I cannot be more grateful to @jennabelson for coming across my reported column and bringing Duke Student Health into a much larger and important conversation about how college student health centers are not equipped to provide the basic care that students deserve.
Being a source has unwittingly made me a better, more empathetic reporter. @jennabelson was always patient, understanding and a human before a journalist.
And I was nervous having a photographer follow me for my first visit to MD Anderson post-treatment, but honestly, I think I had a better experience because @bonjomo was there. These are journalists I aspire to be.
From patterns of misdiagnoses to gaslighting employees who sidesweep patient concerns, college student health centers are a significant problem. Are they ready to bring students back amidst a global pandemic?

After interviewing more than 200 students, parents and health officials and reviewing 5,500 reviews of student health centers posted on Google, here are @washingtonpost ‘s 5 takeaways: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/five-takeaways-from-the-posts-investigation-of-college-health-centers/2020/07/12/09a4b7a0-c09d-11ea-9fdd-b7ac6b051dc8_story.html%3foutputType=amp">https://www.google.com/amp/s/www...
