You really have to wonder about the structure of the PMO that lets their Prime Minister step on every rake he can get his hands on.
The biggest pending land mine in this whole thing is the “public service recommendation” part.
I get that as this was breaking they looked around and saw that WE was named in some public service (PS) briefings and they quickly solidified the narrative that it was entirely their advice.
But they really better hope that the public servants in emails amongst themselves don’t reference WE being identified as the leading candidate from the political level.
These are discussions that they wouldn’t be aware of when making their initial issues management strategy and subsequently doubling down on it. The results of the FINA documents motion is really the big development to watch for.
