For anyone interested in the Public Boards Act in Scotland that redefined women to include men who self-identified as women, this is the Minister's response to women's concerns.
@ChristinaSNP says views about the terms gender and woman were ignored because they were not within the scope of the consultation.

This is UNTRUE.
Here are some of the questions asked including "Do you have any comments on the terminology section of the guidance?"
The consultation closed on 4th August 2019 so there was plenty of time to give responses due consideration prior to enforcing the Act on 29th May 2020. Do you think the Gunning Principles have been met? I don't.
If "the purpose of the 2018 Act was and very much still is, to re-dress the historical underrepresentation of women on our public boards" why does the Act include males and not use the single-sex exceptions which you purport to "strongly support"?
BTW single-sex exceptions are not for excluding "trans people" - only for justifiably excluding those who are male. So why does @scotgov not consider securing women's representation to be a legitimate aim? What happened to the Gov's commitment not conflate sex and gender?
And why are you quoting stats from 2015 when these figures from 2017 were reported by the Committee? AFAIK no public bodies have submitted reports yet so any claim to success is premature. And is utterly meaningless when they will include males anyway!!
And quite frankly, how dare you talk about protecting the hard won rights of women when you call us "non-trans women".
