This judgment actually reminds me of 1971 war. We have won but the victory is in such a manner that things can take a dangerous turn in the coming years https://twitter.com/trramesh/status/1282655759260504065
Pros of the judgment:
1. The status of Padmanabhadasas has been established beyond doubt using covenant as the basis.
2. The Maharaja has an undeniable say in the administration
3. The tantri is the authority on religious matters
4. The temple will be administered on the basis..
.. of the advise given by an advisory committee constituted by the Maharaja

Cons:
1. The denominational status of the temple has not been recognized only because this was not discussed in High court
2. Since it has not been recognized as a denominational temple, one nominee each from state and central govts are present in administrative committee of the temple
3. The temple has been forced to pay borne the expenses made by the state for the purpose of its security
So on the whole, in a 5 member admin committee the govt can have a dominating say if there is a similar govt in state and centre as both nominees and district judge will be in their kitty
Though it has been stated that administration committee has to administer the temple on the basis of advise given by the advisory committee, there is ntg mentioned abt what will happen if admin committee refuses to do so
Also there is no regulation as to how the state's budget will be fixed for security purposes. So in future there is always a chance for state milking the temple funds by demanding excess amount like how they have been doing in various other major temples
So on the whole it's a victory for the time being. But the battle for permanent solution continues. Till the time, the denominational arguments are addressed by the courts or parliament, this will be a continuous battle
Just completed reading the verdict
The situation of the temple will get better through this verdict. The bureaucrats who were damaging the traditions and rituals of the temple have all been shown the door.
Equal representation of traditional stakeholders in admin committee along with their absolute say in advisory committee will play a crucial role in cleaning the mess created by bureaucrats who were handling the temple earlier.
However the original worry stays. The temple expected to go through one more legal battle a few yrs later if there is a similar govt in both centre and state which decides to undermine the traditions. The absolute freedom of temple can be achieved only when art 26 is addressed
So will the govt with absolute majority in centre extend denominational rights to Hindus? Or will that battle also have to be fought in courts? Only time will tell..
