LGBTQ+ References in Hinduism; a thread
Many hindu texts portray homosexuality as joyful and natural. The Kama Sutra recognises and affirms same sex relationships. In fact many temples have carvings that show men and women engaging in homosexual acts.
Hinduism also talks about Transgender, Intersex and Non-Binary people. People who are not traditionally male or female are considered a combination of both.
In fact, they are given a semi-divine status and many believe they have the power to curse and bless others.
In the religious texts, several gods appear as various different genders

- Ardhanarishwara, the androgynous form of Shiva bhagwan and Parvati devi
- Aravan, the hero Krishna bhagwan married as a woman
- Harihara, an incarnation of Shiva and Krishna bhagwan,
- Bahuchara Mata, a goddess connected with eunuchism and transsexuality
- Gadadhara, a male form of Radha
- Bhagavati Devi, a goddess associated with cross dressing
