Today we will be discussing something that has reared its ugly head in the area code of 875

That is SOLO STANS!!!!

Solo stanning is not actually unique as most groups for decades and eras have experienced something similar but its not as prevalent, widely accepted or encouraged as in Kpop. But I'm not here to address kpop stans but the solo stans in Armyland

Before we really get started we need to make a few distinctions so everyone is comfortable with this conversation. Some if not most people who follow BTS have a bias. Member biased people and solo stans are not the same. The lines get blurred but they are different

A member biased person has a strong affinity and affection to usually one person. They love everything about that person and will usually set up their account around that person... But what makes them Army will be satisfied as you continue to read

Solo stans will also claim that they are just biased to the one member. They will also set up their accounts around one person and will actively promote just that one member. They wide very well within the landscape of stanhood but if you pay attention they actually stand out

By now you are thinking what is the difference.. I'm going to start of by introducing 3 main pillars of Love. You see love has to be healthy and it is carried on three solid foundations:

Respect
Support
Defense

Even if you have a bias, your actions towards BTS satisfy the these

The three pillars above are not actually supported fully by solo stans. If I may be as bold as to state that solo stans don't actually love the members they stan. They love the idea of "loving" them... Not the actual member

Respect- If you claim to love someone, you respect their words, actions, choices, stands and careers. You may not agree but you respect them for what they choose to do. Solo stans do not satisfy this. They actually don't respect the members they claim to love

Words are external presentations of internal thought and decisions. When a member of BTS says something, its something they have pondered on, agreed with and made a part of their decisions. Solo stans do not Respect this at all.

Support- Active external agreement with another person. Solo stans do not support the person they stan as they want the member to act according to THEIR thought and direction. So when their fave does something the solo doesn't like, they will actively oppose it

BTS is a group of 7. All the members see each others as equals and support each other. Solo stans will only see this arrangement as x member and group, never as BTS. This is why they struggle to support OT7 endeavors. They can't bring themselves to support the others

Defense- Its very evident that Solo stans do not defend their faves. This is because of a very evil reason. They secretly enjoy the suffering their fave gets as it aids their end goal. They want their fave to feel miserable enough to leave the group for the reason below

Solo stans main goal is actually isolation. They want their fave to themselves. They hate the fact that they have to share that person with not only BTS but also Army. They hate feeling like they are not seen and admired. They want attention at any cost necessary

They also aim to isolate member biased armys from the rest of the fandom. They will guilt trip those who like a certain member and force their ideologies, thoughts and toxic culture on them

This is When I will introduce Groupthink. This is defined as a pattern of thought characterized by self-deception, forced manufacture of consent, and conformity to group values and ethics.

There are usually a few main accounts that actively cultivate this culture

For smaller accounts or Oomfs to feel seen and a part of a community, they will usually follow what prominent solo accounts say and do. This will include trending destructive #s, attacking OT7 accounts or play victim

Solo stans are master victimizers. They victimize not only themselves but the members they stan. Its them against the world and they need to stick together to be powerful and strong. They convince themselves that everything their fave does is a cry for help

This leads us to solo stans acting as conservators. This is defined as a person, official, or institution designated to take over and protect the interests of an incompetent. Thats right, they see their chosen person as incompetent+++

This person cannot think for themselves. So everything from their careers, personal life, thoughts, words and actions need to be approved of my their solo stan. God forbid BTS act as intelligent men.

And what happens when the member acts in a way the solo stans don't "approve" of.. they attack. They will attack said member. They will go to extremes to show their anger even if it actually harms their fave. Hence I said they don't actually like that said member

I blame the big3 for encouraging this toxic culture. They profit on This so will actually make business decisions that make solo stans feel empowered. Most BTS solo stans came from this environment. They just transferred their attention to a BTS member

Solo stans are not Army. Army is a name given to us by BTS. we don't go by any other. Anyone imposing a member specific name may be trying to force an agenda on certain people so be careful. You are an Army!

Solo stans are not Army. Army loves all 7 member or at least respects, supports and defends all 7.

Solo stans are a problem that needs to be taken care off swiftly before they do what they originally set out to do, which is destroy BTS
