This...is...a..little girl. Why do we want little girls to lead this movemen? https://twitter.com/common/status/1281645866319704065
I really question why Black men use the images of little Black girls and Black women as leaders on the frontlines, but won’t elect themselves as the ones who will lead the way?!

Adults can handle this fight.
But sacrificing little Black girls is not ok
And y’all can be upset. We want the world to not see our children as many adults, we want them to know thy are vulnerable, and deserve to be kids. Yet the verbiage, images, and the actions we take with our children state the opposite.
We can also talk about how little Black girls and Black women with dark skin are only used and put on a pedestal when it comes to social justice, being on the frontlines, and labor.
Y’all are upset, but we can contribute to the exact stereotypes we are against. We are also gatekeepers to our image. Black women should def police who gets to use our image and for what. But when we open the doors for Black women and girls to be viewed as super humans
That can end the horrible things we face as a community, it opens the door for others to do the same and see it that way. Some of you are taking this as I hate Black men. That was never stated. But if you want to continue to think small, I won’t stop you.
So let me drop some art work below created by Black men (and yes, I used men because there are multiple) that have used Black women in their artwork that contributes to the harmful stereotypes we are so called against.
And yes, for those of you mad in my mentions stating that it’s only Black men and Black boy’s dying...well, why are we using Black women and Black girls in these images.
Shall I continue? Because the artwork created by the white artist is mild. But There is a pattern of Black men supporting and creating art that contributes to the harmful narratives surrounding Black women & Black girls. Thus, opening the door for non Black people to do the same
I don’t hate Black men. What I do hate are things that harm Black women and Black girls and I will always stand up against that.
We need to be careful with what we state and create.

Because it always comes back to bite us in the butt later.
