Paper quality for beginners... a thread 🙄
GSM: means gram per square meter. In other words, how heavy or thick the papers are. The higher the GSM the thicker the paper but also the more expensive. I’ll add some common GSM papers to explain
A standard printer A4 paper is about 80 GSM. So when you touch it, it feels so nice and thick.
GSM lower than 40 is like those papers you put inside gifts.
Card board is 300+ GSM. Cheap notepads are like 50-70 GSM.
Why does it matter? GSM papers like 70-90 dont get crumbled or torn as easy as for example 50-60 GSM. So if you’re the kind to staple papers and not use them INSIDE a notepad, use higher GSM.
Low GSM papers also tend to show ink on the other side... so if you write with ink and hate how the ink is visible from the other page, consider higher GSM. Another advantage is just that higher GSM paper feels good man... IT FEELS GOOD. ITS WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY I SWEAR
