The claim is that people *owe* a duty to cover their face because they *might* be unknowingly infectious *even if not now and never will be ill* and a person who is "vulnerable" might get Covid and die. Let's examine this.
The claim is that people *owe* a duty to cover their face because they *might* be unknowingly infectious *even if not now and never will be ill* and a person who is "vulnerable" might get Covid and die. Let's examine this.
1/ According to NYC IF you die "with" Covid 99 times out of 100, approximately, you have an underlying serious illness on a specific list. Everyone, statistically-speaking, who has such a condition knows it. Risk of death with no such condition is MUCH less than all-cause.
2/ In other words if you DO NOT have one of those conditions your risk is statistically zero. Note that this does not mean you cannot die of Covid; it does, however, mean, you have no specific reason to fear getting it and dying. You are much more likely to die of something else.
3/ One of the "categories" is immune compromised. This includes people with current cancer and a whole host of other disorders, most inherited. There are approximately TEN MILLION such people in America. **ANY** infection can be life-threatening to them, even a common cold.
4/ Yet prior to Covid, **NOBODY** passed a law that *YOU* must wear a mask because on average THREE OUT OF ONE HUNDRED people you run into in the store, if you happen to have a *COLD*, may *DIE* if you give it to them. Yet that is absolutely true AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN TRUE.
5/ My *NEPHEW* was killed by leukemia. Yet NOBODY ever passed a LAW demanding that *everyone* wear masks *so he could go to a bar, a restaurant or buy groceries* because HE was at risk if he got the flu. Yet the flu, while he was undergoing chemo, could have easily killed him.
6/ This set of people will NEVER disappear. Therefore the *DEMAND* to "wear a mask" and said laws will *NEVER BE DROPPED* because that SPECIAL CLASS of people **ALWAYS HAS AND WILL EXIST**.
7/ You MUST CHOOSE and there are only TWO choices. Either (1) The VULNERABLE have both the freedom and responsibility to choose THEIR PERSONAL level of protection from risk, including masks, distancing and staying home OR.....
8/ YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN have the freedom to socially interact with other people outside of your private residence WITHOUT A MASK ON AND/OR AT A DISTANCE OF 6' OR MORE. The "laws" will NEVER be dropped because THERE ALWAYS WILL BE that 3 in 100 who can die IF you have a cold.
9/ You either REVOLT NOW and *FORCE* the rescission of these mandates OR YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN HAVE A NORMAL SOCIAL LIFE. The #MaskHoles can *ALWAYS* point to the person taking chemo as a reason you MUST protect them. Covid is LESS DANGEROUS to non-compromised people than the flu
