Rhonda Pride is racist and repulsive and this is a thread on why you shouldn't support them, their radio events or their TV ventures

In 2019 (their first event) they featured an act by Just Deb who spouted racist jokes:
"She pointed at a security guard and said: 'Alright Abdul - you made any curry lately?'"

She also made heavily sexual jokes despite being in stage before the 6pm cutoff for children

These jokes included:
"Started having sex when she was 13 - ok, some people do that. With my head teacher - it wasn't illegal back then"

"Another 10 years and I'll have you" (in reference to a child in the audience)

Further racist and Islamic jokes included:
"It's nice to see a ginger Muslim. I'm not PC."

This is the very pride event that tried to also ban kinkwear as it considered in not safe for children and inappropriate

Instead of apologizing Rhonda Pride stood by Just Deb claiming she wasn't on stage before 6pm, that people at Swansea pride had no issue with her act, and have overall defended her act saying people shouldn't have been offended as it was past 6pm

Residents were upset by the act too, saying it was so loud that all you could hear outside was vulgar language. They were disappointed and hope in the future any such acts would be held inside a tent or other structure so local children wouldn't be subject to it

They claimed to be part of the trans rights protest but didn't offer help or take part. They approached me (a cis white woman) asking to be on their show, but didn't extend the offer to my brown trans partner who was standing next to me and who actually was on the megaphone

They have also been claiming that Minus De Kock "was the brains behind" a drag night at Mary's that was actually thought up by Kit Hulu. They were part of the team behind it but was not the brains...

Apparently this is how they're dealing with their acts going forward... Would love to see what that contract says, doubt it actually confronts the racism and paedophilia that happened last year. They also STILL HAVEN'T APOLOGISED

Don't work with them or attend any of their events! The people who have, unfortunately, have had horrible experiences. They also CONTINUE to be inappropriate around children

It's worth knowing that the same person who runs Rhondda Pride also runs Good Fundraisers Ltd, Proud Valleys and # change the ratio

I've heard from several people who have left Rhondda Pride that the organizers are now slandering then to other volunteers. They've been accused of racism, been spammed with messages, everytime they block someone, they're messaged on a different account.

The organizers haven't taken the time to listen to the grievances of these ex-volunteers who has spent months helping them out. Instead they're targeting them with harassment. Again do NOT work with Rhondda Pride, once you realise the red flags they'll throw you to the kerb

Volunteers high up in the organization have told me they've been publicly shamed by the head of Rhondda Pride for leaving. If you don't fit within the rules of the group you are immediately kicked out. These absurd rules include having to share every single post they make

Alex Black (the trustee for Rhondda Pride) has been accusing anyone who leaves that they are racist and homophobic, they're definitely someone that people need to avoid!

So it seems @RhonddaPride's Alex Black is kicking off on facebook claiming they're not transphobic or racist. Despite what they are saying RP has not apologized for the incidents last year and are ignoring any proof

Despite calling the police to find out a trans man's number and getting an officer to threaten them, harrasing ex volunteers, using other profiles to stalk people and snooping on my linkedin it turns out we're harrasing them

Natalie used to attend Proud Valleys... Several people have said they put people down & made them extremely anxious. The group folded as people no longer wanted to attend. It started back up and according to Natalie's LinkedIn she is now the head

Looking further into Natalie's CV she also claims to be the founder of #changetheratio I tried to search this and nothing with Natalie's name comes up. The website she linked leads to an Australian website with no mention of her. I contacted them and they confirmed this

They have now deleted this status therefore removing all the comments rightfully criticizing the way they've run Rhondda Pride. I guess they never learn huh?

Despite having no training & polices in place Rhondda Pride are now advertising themselves as helping a homeless couple. Natalie, the head, has called the police on a local trans man in the past for making a Facebook comment. No real trans ally would ever pull something like this

No clue why she was interviewed for this when @aktcharity would be much better suited to talk about LGBTQ+ homelessness and @LlamauUK has been known to help LGBT people. A missed opportunity to help raise awareness on where help is available
