Thai consonants

Thai Alphabet has 44 consonants which are grouped into 21 sounds. There are 3 classes: low, middle, high.
This classes determines the tone. According to conditions.

Let's get to know Thai one by one.

Before that, I want to explain that every letter must be followed by an example of the word.

For example the letter " ก " or Ko Kai. Ko is the letter and Kai means chicken.

This is a provision.

1. ก

The letter "ก" or Ko Khai. Ko is the letter and khai means chicken.

It reads as "g".

ไก่ = gai = chicken

ไ (vocal ai) + ก (ko khai) + ่ (low pitch)

ก kokhai is middle class.

2. ข

The letter "ข" or Kho Khai.
It reads as "kh".

ไข่ = khai = egg

ไ (vowel ai) + ข (kho khai) + ่ (low tone)

ข Khokhai is high class.

3. ฃ

The letter "ฃ" or Kho Khuat.
It reads as "kh".

ฃ ว ด = khuaat = bottle

ฃ (khokhuat) + ว (wowen) + ด (do dek) ฃ khokhuat is high class.

The letter is now rarely used, being replaced universally by kho khai (ข ไข่). whose letter in number 2.

4. ค

The letter "ค" or Kho Khwai.
It reads as "kh".

ควาย = khwai = buffalo

ค (khokhwai) + ว (wowen) + า (vowel a) + ย (yoyak)

ค is low class.

Another example is krab (ครับ)

5. ฅ

The letter "ฅ" or Kho Khon.

It reads as "kh".

ฅ น = khohn = Person

ฅ (khon) + น (no nu)

ฅ low class.

The letter ฅ is rarely used in Thailand now. There are very few words that begin with the letter ฅ in the Thai dictionary.

6. ฆ

Huruf "ฆ" atau Kho Ra Khang
Dibacanya jdi huruf "kh".

ระฆัง = Ra Khang = Bell

ร (ro rue) + ะ (vowel a) + ฆ (khorakhang) + ั (vowel a) + ง (ngongu)

ฆ kelasnya rendah.

6. ง

Huruf "ง" atau Ngo Ngu
Dibacanya jdi huruf "ng"

งู = Nguu = Snake

ง (ngangu) + ู (vowel u)

ง ngongu kelasnya Rendah.
