July reading thread

goals for the month:
2 nonfiction books

4 back issues of short fiction mags I subscribe to but am behind on

I just finished How To Be An Anti-Racist by Ibram X. Kendi; a couple days ago I finished reading Black Static #55; and I'm currently reading @/valerievaldes's Chilling Effect.

Finished Chilling Effect! Space adventure fun!! Took me weeks to finish but I promise this is no fault of the book's; 100% mine own.

Now picking up Jonny Appleseed by Joshua Whitehead for fiction and (re-picking up) I Hope We Choose Love by Kai Cheng Thom for nonfiction

And evidently I need to start a new back issue of short fiction—maybe Apex?

Since last posting on this thread I finished the September 2010 issue of Apex AND I Hope We Choose Love... benefits of a week's vacation, but also of really readable and well written stuff.

I think I'll focus on Jonny Appleseed for the next couple days, with some sort stories out of "The Weird" to break things up a little.
