I have avoided all media about this game and have no idea what’s gonna happen. Let’s go.
Well… I was delighted by the unexpected opening setting, and didn’t mind the VN-style prologue at all, but the lack of basic camera settings (especially Y-axis inversion) is a big ask.
Sent the devs a congratulations-but-could-you-just email. This is a super-basic accessibility affordance and a weird thing to get wrong. Frustrating!
• NPCs so far have similar fun-to-cringe ratio as first game. (Nice to see a lot of Black characters tho…)

• I have thought “OK this is gonna be a dungeon for sure” three times and so far no dungeons. What is happening??

• The first “free quests” gave me such joy. Such joy.
I spent 15 minutes trying to shoot a squirrel in someone’s front yard in broad daylight with busted controls, so it would drop voodoo doll parts. Its little bastard friends kept running up and stealing my alligator medicine.

Amy is fascinated. She is having a marvelous time.
Continuing to enjoy this game way more than it probably deserves. Using mystic second-sight powers to find dumpsters to root around in, because they contain literal garbage, which I am made to desire: the very soul-stuff of this game.
Oops I have never actually named the game in this thread. It is Deadly Premonition 2.

I played and enjoyed the original game name years ago. It’s a much more “pure” experience. This is a real hot stew and I don’t know quite what to make of it, but I’m having fun. I… think.
