The US Court of Appeals for the Seventh District issued a ruling Sunday which will allow for the first federal prisoner to be executed in 17 years on Monday, pending an appeal to the US Supreme Court.

A U.S. district judge on Monday ordered a new delay in federal executions, hours before the first lethal injection was scheduled to be carried out at a federal prison in Indiana. The administration will certainly appeal the delay.

The executions of #DanielLee, #WesleyPurkey, and #DustinHonken were scheduled to occur this week, with Lee's occurring 4 PM EDT, then Purkey's occurring 4 PM EDT Wednesday, and Honken's occurring Friday 4 PM EDT.
All three are stayed pending further action by federal courts.

UPDATE: U.S. District Court of District of Columbia denies the motion filed by William P. Barr in reversing the stays in the scheduled federal executions. The executions of #DanielLee, #WesleyPurkey, #DustinHonken, and #KeithNelson are stayed, unless SCOTUS overrules shortly.

Daniel Lee, man convicted & sentenced to death for his role in the 1996 murder of a family of 3, was scheduled for execution at 4 pm EDT today.
