Angela Martinez Gómez was 42 years old and was originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. She was a leader and loved by her family and community. Burger King exploited her for her labor until her final days. That's how companies like @BurgerKing and @McDonalds make billions of dollars. – bei Burger King
Yolanda Santiago is on strike today because, as a diabetic, she can't risk going to work. No one should risk going to work at this store. She's self-quarantining and can't be at our action today at 1919 Pico Blvd in Santa Monica, #ProtectAllWorkers – bei Burger King
"A couple days ago, [Angela Martinez Gómez] died and had symptoms of coronavirus. [Burger King] has done nothing to protect us. I am diabetic and fear for my health and my family's." Yolanda Santiago #ProtectAllWorkers
Today, Brown Burger King workers in SoCAL are on strike while workers at @McDonalds in NorCal continue to strike.

“Several workers walked out for safety on July 6, after learning of Angela’s death,” said a complaint filed with CAL/OSHA. “A worker shouldn’t have to die and workers shouldn’t have to strike to call attention to COVID safety at Burger King.”
