. @HHSgov estimates that the federal contractors in charge of transporting organs fail to recover *tens of thousands* of organs a year. This negligence can have fatal consequences for the 112,000+ Americans currently on the waiting list for a lifesaving transplant.
These contractors (known as Organ Procurement Organizations, or OPOs) are urging @HHSgov to delay new oversight measures AND asking for more taxpayer dollars.

This makes no sense. COVID-19 is a major threat to patients in organ failure. OPOs must be held accountable. (2/3)
. @RepKarenBass and I refuse to stand idly by while Organ Procurement Organizations leave thousands of patients in limbo. We're demanding that @HHSgov strengthen oversight of OPOs ASAP.
