I posted some of these clips already, but here, in one video, is what I'd show people from my footage of the first night of the #GeorgeFloydProtests here in PDX: May 29 at the Multnomah County Justice Center.

AFAIK, photo/videography still isn't a crime.

Early yesterday AM, this officer told a very civil protester asking Qs about their rights that they needed a press "pass" to be considered "media" ("they're allowed to be here").

I didn't have a press "pass." You're supposed to be identifiable. See TRO: https://twitter.com/Rjaellis/status/1278845810541654016?s=20
I understand this might seem like a small thing, but to me, it came off as deceptive. The officer didn't say that you should/need to be visibly identifiable as "media"/"press." He specifically said yes, you need a "pass." There's no one official pass. https://twitter.com/econbrkfst/status/1281450852562030593?s=20
Something I learned when the PPB picked up my phone (still curious which officer: https://twitter.com/econbrkfst/status/1278910718700425216?s=20) is that, in certain situations, officers can decide not to communicate with you if they deem it may cause a "flashpoint" and thus escalation. Just interesting, IMO.
I've been in many situations in which the only communication from officers consisted of announcements, LRAD warnings, shouts of "MOVE!!!" They'll stand silently while protesters ask them to identify themselves, ask for business cards. I've heard a few interesting answers, though.
I thought the answers from this officer were somewhat interesting: https://twitter.com/econbrkfst/status/1273243657311621120?s=20

That was from before the TRO about "press"/"media."

When the cops are filming me (also protest attendees in general), I'll definitely film them back. AFAIK, that's not a crime yet. https://twitter.com/econbrkfst/status/1274505328676139008?s=20
This is one of those moments I think folks should see. Officers in camo ran into Chapman Square, seemingly unprompted (peaceful vigil). They deployed "LOW ROLL Distraction Device[s]" at close range, then retreated to the federal building across the street. https://twitter.com/econbrkfst/status/1280835703924854784?s=20

The officers didn't clear the area of deployment. They chucked these "LOW ROLL Distraction Device[s]" toward people who'd just been standing in Chapman Square, gathered around tea candles that were lit on the ground memorializing Summer Taylor. https://twitter.com/econbrkfst/status/1280923894900117504?s=20

This stuff is what I want to be doing, but I'm not able to do what others are. I'm glad I was able to meet and learn from some of those people. I have a lot of thank-yous and apologies I'd like to make, but I don't think that's what people want to hear. https://twitter.com/econbrkfst/status/1281301422718345216?s=20
