Jk Rowling and Lucius Malfoy a Thread: At first glance most HP fans seem to state that what JK is doing to the trans community is very Voldemort-like but I would like to take the time to make the case that she’s worse than that- she is Lucius Malfoy (1/13) #harrypotter @jkrowling

For the purposes of this thread I will be quoting out of books and not movies. I will be examining how both “characters” have delt with their toxic thinking. (2/13)

In GOF we get insight into Lucius’s role in the death eaters. (Muggle torture) It is later in this passage we learned that it was in fact, he that levitated muggles at the World Cup at the beginning of the book. (3/13)

“Lucius my slippery friend,” he whispered, halting before him. “I am told that you have not renounced the old ways, though to the world you present a respectable face. You are still ready to take the lead in a spot of Muggle-torture, I believe?”” GOF Chapter 33 (4/13)

It is also in this dialogue that Voldemort scolds Malfoy for not seeking him sooner, although we all know Malfoy wasn’t going to go to Albania to resurrect something he wanted dead in the first place. (5/13)

This can be seen in the growing tension between The Malfoy family and Voldemort all throughout DH. Notably the wand exchange at the beginning and towards the end where Narcissa sells Voldemort down the river for the chance to see her son one more time* (6/13)

Ah yes, and what does @jk_rowling have to do with Malfoy? First, they believe that what they believe is right unequivocally. Villains never believe what they do is wrong- we see this principle from 45 all the way to Moldy Voldy. (7/13)

Both are also incredibly rich- in COS we see Malfoy try to sell expensive (probably cursed) items at Borgin and Burke’s. In DH part 1 the movie we can see inside of the Malfoy property and in DH Yaxley remarks about how the Malfoys own peacocks. (8/13)

@jk_rowling is worth 1 billion dollars and while I do not believe wealth inherently corrupts, given the amount of money and status JK has leads to self-righteous behavior.* (9/13)

*had I sold a billion dollars of children’s books, movies, amusement parks etc, I would also have a big head. (Footnote 2)

Both Lucius and @jk_rowling have dug themselves in deep and regret their decisions the longer the story unfolds. Neither have been held accountable for their toxic thinking patterns. Remember Malfoy slipped back into the ministry and @jk_rowling slipped back to Twitter. (10/13)

This combination of not seeing what you’re doing is wrong along with the self-righteous behavior leads me to believe she will never apologize. And like the Malfoy’s she will sit at the end of the great hall wondering the rest of her days if it’s okay to be there. (11/13)

Let’s talk about holding people accountable while we’re here and I have you! @jk_rowling signed an open letter yesterday calling for the end of something that does not exist “cancel culture” what does exist is holding people accountable. (12/13)

The problem is like Malfoy she has never been held accountable for toxic thinking before- and I get it- it sucks to have the kids you helped raise hold you accountable. (13/13)
