"Asking to see the data" is one of the white defensive strategies that Robin DiAngelo identifies as indicative of "White Fragility"
Intersectionalists and MacKinnonite feminists are in many ways mutually hostile. What they share is a common animus toward reason and empiricism and a common valorization of subjective experiences of pain and victimization the former are held to render invisible by design.
I don't discount the critique of reason and I don't dismiss the validity of "other ways of knowing." If you are interested in art, religion, and dreams and see them as pathways to understanding, you reject the reduction of all knowledge to the strictly rationalistic.
Nor do I reject the racial and gendered aspects of this critique. Reason and empiricism can and have been used as a means to deny and trivialize the experiences of subordinate classes of people, including the victims of sexual violence
The dispute is over whether reason and empiricism, rightly construed, serve as the only pathway to escape the morass in which subordinated classes have been confined, or whether abuses made in the name of reason and empiricism in the past are in fact constitutive of its essence
The latter position is what I call "successor ideology", the former position is the one I hold.
We are seeing today is a superficial success obtained by those attacking reason and empiricism.

But in a longer run time span, a return of an age of unreason is unlikely to turn out well for those seeking it
