but little athanasia couldn't bear being in the same room as him, so she refused, she knew the risk of refusing an invitation from her father-emperor but she could care less. her heart was cold to him, and him only, he didn't deserve her acknowledgement, she pitied

the red-haired knight who probably would be on the receiving end of the emperor's fury, but she'd rather he take the blame than appear in front of her disdainful father instead. the same knight came again the next day, but same as her answer yesterday, she refused and the

knight went back sullenly, little athanasia would have thought the world of her father, but that was when she didn't know, how he abandoned her mother, and left her alone. and just like that, it became a routine, she'd wait at the entrance of her damned palace and

refuse the invitation before felix could even utter a word,
"tell the father-emperor... that he should stop inviting athy, athy could care less about him and his sudden interest... tell him to stop pestering athy already, athy hates him! i hate him!" the little

princess screamed out, before turning her back on the knight and entering her ruby palace, it was a few days later that claude came walking in her palace doors, demanding the princess be brought to him, athanasia clenched her tiny fists.
"insolence, i have generously invited

you to my palace a couple of times and you dare to refuse? who taught you your manners, bring them to me and i'll have their head rolling on the ground." claude glared down at her, but little athy glared back, catching him off-guard.
"you dare glare at me? the emperor?

you insolent little wench—" athanasia yanked his hands and positioned them around her neck.
"you should have continued to abandon athy, isn't that what father emperor likes to do? abandon people? you abandoned athy's mother as well, didn't you?" he flinched as he pulled

back his hand, she let a fake smile adorn her lips
"athy doesn't need father emperor, so father emperor can stop pestering athy and abandon her again now." claude stared at the little girl with a hint of surprise in his eyes, before voiding it of emotion and turning his back

on her, athy dropped her smile and turned back as well.
"tomorrow, i will have you move to emerald palace. you have no right to complain." was the last he said before completely disappearing from her ruby palace, athanasia whipped her head around and gritted her teeth

as she watched him leave, he had ignored her ever since her birth, why was he caring enough to move her to a different palace now?
"princess..." lilian started but got cut off
"the more he acts like this, the more athy hates him..." she pulled at her hair, whimpering

her frustrations. and just as he said, she was moved to emerald palace, and even went out of his way to change her maids, only lilian stayed by her side. but she never entertained him, she refused to, she hated being in the same room as him, hated being in the same place...
