Unpopular take: Bernie wouldn’t have been screwed over by the DNC if he didn’t allow himself to be. Back in 2016 when they cheated him, he should’ve threatened that if they continue, he’d leave and run as an independent.1/

You may say that MSM would attack him, he’d lose votes to Hilary. True, but the MSM has never been on his side and Bernie would actually win over a few trump voters who hate the establishment whilst maintaining his huge base which had momentum in 16’ . 2/

Bernie Sanders took the knee for the same party who has screwed him over and over again. They have never supported him or his ideas - they went out of their way when he became a mayor to make him look incompetent. He had donations from regular people, many volunteered. 3/

Believe it or not, the DNC would cave to the threat of Bernie running as an independent and let him be the Dem nominee. Not because they want to beat trump, but because if Bernie chose to run as an independent, it would show people that an independent can be influential... 4/

...And that they DON’T have to pick between two corrupt parties. This threatens the DNC’s power. Bernie lost a lot of his base in 2020 because he caved to the establishment, once again. 5/

This thread is not to say I hate Bernie or that I don’t respect all the good he’s done. I just believe it’s important to point out the bad things people do, as well as the good, especially if we admire them. 6/
