The exact Sanskrit verse which should be mentioned in this thread is this:
गृध्रोलूकश्र्वकाकाद्धैः स्वप्ने यः परिवार्यते । रक्षःप्रेतपिशाचस्त्रीचण्डालद्रविडान्ध्रकैः ।। (Ch. In. 5/29)
We will try to explain this to describe what exactly it means.

It is known that our dreams are most of the times related to our fears, undisclosed em otions, desires, imaginations and day to day activities.
Charka in this verse simply indicated that; fears due to humanocentrism, sexophobia and xenophobia have negative consequences for healthy individuals and fatal one for diseased.
These verses are mentioned in Charak Samhita for explaining that the fear of diverse kind surely has many biological consequences be it endocrine, autonomic, behavioural and/or cognitive in form of diseases.
In most part of the #Charka_Samhita human beings are addressed as पुरुष (a collective term for both men and women).
So, to indicate opposite sex Chakra has used the term (स्त्री) very often throughout the main text.
This shouldn't be taken as propagation of any prejudice against different species, females or denizens because #Charka has mentioned "सर्वप्राणिषु चात्मनीवावेक्षा" (treat every living being as self) for attaining emancipation from all sufferings be it diseases or life itself.
So, no verse of main text should be interpreted individually without considering other related perspectives in the text.
If something has been said in one part of Samhita the next part of same concept is explained in different Sthan (section) and/or Adhyaya (Chapter) with depth.
In this context it should be worth mentioning that the prodromal symptoms (in this case; having specific dreams) only after converting into fully manifested disease in future can be termed as #prognostic_signs.
Thank you for pointing this out. Because these verses are needed to be thoroughly researched by means of modern scientific techniques for clear understanding of concept of #prodromal_symptoms in #Ayurveda which could help in discovery of new #biomarkers of various diseases.
