When in our time such Muslim public figures literally make money off of their public persona and perpetuate sins that are no longer private but oppreesion toward another, they are not allowed to exist in Muslim spaces with impunity.

Those who excuse such oppression under the guise of "no crime was committed" are ignorant of the Islamic standard of morality as well as our code of law which takes admittance (iqrar) of moral sins as the highest form of evidence.
A person's allegations are accepted and grounds to remove the status of trustworthiness (isqat al 'adalah) from community work, the abuser is investigated for breach of morality, and any crimes committed should be reported to the authorities and victims protected.
In Islamic law and understanding ethical code, there is a difference between applying criminal and corporal law in cases of Islamically defined abuse.

In cases of corporal law.. public positions in Islam that require the condition of adalah - trustworthiness, evidence which is considered are not at the level of stringency as criminal.
Cases of abuse assess evidence from even one individual that strips trustworthiness from an individual in the public domain.

After investigation depending on extent of the abuse it can even be publicized, esp if the person makes money off of public clout and public standing.

Any Muslim in the public eye needs to also be extra mindful of their ego, unchecked desires, & actions.
