Christians, please. I BEG. Do not use one verse from the Bible like it can contain the whole context of the chapter and book you took it from.

My favorite verse is Psalm 18:19 BUT EVEN THAT VERSE MATTERS IN CONTEXT WHICH IS WHY YOU DONT SEE ME OUT HERE WAVING IT AROUND LIKE A BANDANA ON A SUMMER DAY

Most verses that people quote matter because of a personal connection to that scripture. And that’s awesome! Beautiful! (As long as it’s an accurate understanding of cultural context and an exegetical approach. We do not practice eisegesis here.)

BUUUUUUT—

There is a difference between a personal faith and a community faith. Now, neither changes the meaning of scripture. But, I have a personal connection to Psalm 18:19 that others don’t have. It’s ridiculous to expect them to have the same connection I have. That’s personal faith.

Community faith - “this is what the scriptures read and is less about my personal emotional connection.” Can you share your personal connect? Please do! But your personal connection is not ecumenical. (I’m using Christianese so some of you understand I know what I’m saying)

Also. Please. For my sake. Do not call it “Psalms 18:19”. When you talk about the book of Psalms, it is plural because it is a lot of psalms. When you are talking about a specific psalm it is singular. ALSO REVELATION IS NOT PLURAL. IT IS ONE REVELATION, NOT A BUNCH OF THEM.
