Actually nah. The more you watch Breaking Bad,as in rewatches, you start to realize Walt is worse than you remember. I remember my very first watch of Breaking Bad and I hated Skyler entirely, while still blaming Walt. https://twitter.com/Bankslvrd/status/1280625241815908352
But as I rewatched it a lot more times,I started to justify Skyler's actions. Except fucking Ted,all she did was just...kinda annoy Walt. And in return Walt even forgave her. You must be brain-dead to think Walt even cared about Skyler post s3.
The whole point of the fucking show is a guy Breaking Bad. He feels like he never gets a say in his life,so with the final few months he has,he tries to live out his wildest fantasies by ridding of any obstacles blocking his way to his money.
You can say that he did care about his children, but never as much as he did about himself. Heisenberg is not a dude he snaps to immediately. He was Heisenberg all along. He was never Walter White. He just saw an opportunity and seized it.
It's like he was patiently waiting for it. A chance to finally live and die on his own terms.
And I understood this even more when watching Better Call Saul. You see a man called Jimmy McGill trying to be the best he can and remain inside a courthouse.
But the circumstances he was put in barred him from living the life he desired. He has taken a lot of shortcuts in his past and he had a brother who despised him and demeaned everything he did. Even graduating law school.
You see Jimmy slip back into his old ways, doing illegal things that do him good in the short term, and when that term comes to an end, he'll pull off another con which helps him prevail.
Finally he goes so far to abandon his name and call himself Saul Goodman,a name he coined when he was living the best of his past con artist life.
Yet he never completely becomes evil or anything like that after his name change. He's still the same old Jimmy.
He never gets into a sudden rampage like Heisenberg. He still remains calm, and his name change makes sense. While Walter wanted to wreak havoc to get what he want, Saul made sure to look out for his peers while he's at it.
And the peers who he works with are doing what they do for a cause. May it be leaving some cash for their grandkids or to get their loved ones out of it safely.
But Heisenberg ? He's evil incarnate.
He makes sure to fuck everyone's life over. If you make contact with him, he'll make sure you never make it out. If he goes down, you go down sooner.
As the show progressed, Heisenberg gets more and more violent and faces more consequences. To avoid these consequences his only way was to kill.
He figured nothing bad would happen if he just killed the one who's causing trouble for him.
Just because you killed Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James.
As I rewatched the show,I saw there was a LOT of foreshadowing.
Like when Skyler says to Jesse..."You stay away from him,or you will be one sorry individual."
And Jesse had it the worst of them all because he was the one who sticked too close to the devil for so long.
end of thread. didn't realise it was so long.
