1. I'm told by multiple sources that MSNBC officially closed Joy Reid's deal to takeover the 7 PM hour yesterday. Now with the news that Shep Smith is taking over the 7 PM hour on CNBC, that makes Joy and Shep friendly competitors at sister news networks.
2. Shep's deal with CNBC is in the $5-$8 million dollar a year range I'm told. At Fox News he was making $15 million a year but that pay doesn't make sense for other networks and Shep was at Fox News for over two decades.
