This isn't a dunk on Mayor Breed. But all this shit about im not going to wear a mask or I'm going out even though I'm covid positive is directly tied to the individualism of our hyper competitive, winner takes all society.

The irony of course is that humans only advanced to our present state through a combination of a comfortably stable climate and community cooperation. Alone we're fucking slow, and weak. We take forever to mature from babies.

Together though, we're nigh unstoppable.

The US is destroying the climate and covid has made clear our systems of mass cooperation are broken.

Countries can keep us from their borders to contain covid but we're running the planet for everyone.
