The US reported +890 new coronavirus deaths today, bringing the total to 134,862. It's hard to say based on two days of data, but we *might* be seeing an inflection point towards rising deaths, following a lengthy gradual decline.
The US had a record number of new cases today with +61,848, bringing the total to 3,158,932. The 7-day moving average continues rising past +54k/day.
The number of active cases in the US in now above 1.6 million.
Texas had over +10,000 new cases today. Florida had nearly that many.
California had over +8,000.
Arizona and George had over +3,000 each.
Tennessee had over +2,000.
Five other states (LA, SC, OH, AL, NC) had over +1,000 each.

Texas had a record number of new cases for the 3rd day in a row.
Texas also had a record number of new deaths today, for the 3rd day in a row.
Florida's number of new cases today bounced back to nearly +10k, while its 7-day moving average rose past +9k/day.
Florida average daily death rate has seen a modest rise to just under 50/day.
California's 7-day moving average today rose above +8k new cases/day for the first time.
California had a record number of new deaths today, surpassing its previous daily peak in late April.
Arizona's average number of new cases seems to have leveled off around +3.5k/day for the past week.
Arizona's daily death rate has been very gradually rising, but shows no sign of spiking.
Georgia's daily number of new cases continues to rise, but its daily number of deaths is lower than it was a month ago.
Tennessee had a record number of new cases today, after a recent lull. It also had its highest number of deaths in nearly a month.
South Carolina's daily number of new cases has leveled off a bit in the past few days, but it had its highest number of deaths today since late April.
Overall, the daily number of new cases continues to rise in the new "hot zone" states and nationally. We're not seeing as a big a movement in daily deaths, but in most cases the numbers seem to have stopped falling and are inching upwards again.
