Quinn Gaither from the Gone Series and Steve Harrington from Stranger Things - A Thread
Seeing as I've posted my almost complete absolutely amazing Steve Harrington cosplay, I've realized that in the Gone Series, Quinn Gaither follows a similar character progression to Steve. He'd start out as one of the most disliked characters on the show who redeems himself (1)
at the end of the first season. Steve stepping in to save Nancy/Jonathan from the Demogorgan, ditching his asshole friends, and helping to buy Jonathan a new camera. Quinn makes amends with Sam after betraying him and helps defend the town, saving Sam's life when Drake's (2)
about to choke him to death by working up the courage to shoot Drake. They both then go on to grow as people, becoming a lot more likable, as they both become more courageous and helpful as the stories move along. Steve starts getting closer to the kids in ST2 and protects (3)
them, risking his own life. He also shows his maturity in accepting that Nancy loves Jonathan, despite Steve still being in love with her. Quinn, though still seen as a traitor by most, gets closer with Lana who inspires him to start fishing, which helps save the town from (4)
starvation. He becomes one of the most powerful people in the FAYZ, as said by Edilio. He also shows his maturity when Lana is with Sanjit, as even though he still is in love with Lana, he respects and likes Sanjit too much to act on it. They both end up risking their lives (5)
for good causes, completely different from the assholes and cowards they once were. Then there's also their inferiority complexes (in a way). Quinn doesn't see himself worthy enough to be around people like Sam and Lana, as they have powers that help so many while he's just a (6)
fisherman. Steve, after graduating from high school, realized he had peaked already and so many people he knew were moving on to bigger and better things while he was stuck working at an ice cream shop for minimum wage, despite him being the popular kid. They both get over (7)
their issues over the course of ST3 and the book Fear (which will be season 5). They end up becoming one of (if not the best) developed characters in their respective series. Hell, they both even start out together with the badass, no-nonsense girl (Nancy and Lana) but end (8)
up losing them, though they still harbor the same romantic feelings. All in all, they are 2 amazing characters that I had an epiphany about while making my cosplay and filming a thing that'll be up tomorrow. I hope you enjoyed this comparison thing (if you read it) (9)
It makes me wonder if Quinn will gain the same popularity that Steve has. Tbh, I really can see it happening (and if I get to play him then it'd be even better haha).
