When Maya first appeared on air with Don Lemon to talk about George Floyd, she came across as being rather forgetful for someone who had worked with Chauvin for 17 years and George Floyd for at least 1.

By her second interview, she definitely had her story down much better.

Maya owned a very popular club, a radio station, Telemundo Minnesota, and various other businesses around town. She ought to be the kind of woman that has it at least moderately together.

So why were those interviews so forced?

A couple days later another coworker of George's came forward and said the two men had bad blood.

The very next day, CBS recanted the statement. They claimed he had confused George for another man.

"She specifically said she was unable to givel info about George because she did not have a close relationship with him as I did," Pinney said that led to his mistake. "I apologize for not doing my due diligence and placing you in a very uncomfortable situation," he wrote.
