Problem is there’s not the federal will and leadership to make this happen. It’s so tragic, if we would do 6 weeks hard work, we can open schools, colleges, maybe bring back college and professional sports. Instead we choose a path guaranteed to fail

There's hope for America, but we need to be smart, leverage the strengths of our great research universities (and stop giving in to our darker urges). As @carlzimmer says SARS CoV-2 is "clumsy prey", containing it, opening America is weeks/months away (so far zero political will)
