Reasons why Harry’s bedtime story actually helped you fall asleep unlike other random stories, a mini thread: #DreamWithHarry
Now before I start, I am not a somnologist nor am I claiming to be one. I’m making this thread simply based off of experience. I’ve used the calm app before Harry’s story and it’s never helped me but Harry’s did.
1. Before anything, I think the main reason is because we know Harry. We might not know his personally but we 100% have a connection to him and he with us.
2. Kind of cont. on #1, since we know Harry, he’s more confronting than a random stranger with a soothing voice. The reason it works is because we feel a sense of comfort and safety with his voice. We feel safe falling asleep to the words of a man we all love, admire, and trust.
3. He uses first person pronouns. He uses worlds like I, me, and we. This makes the listener feel even more comfortable and intimate. He’s not talking to an audience. He’s talking and you and him specifically.
4. He says very intimate things. Now, I want to make it clear that I am not referring to sexually intimate things. Even though I think Harry is attractive, I see him more as a friend that’s always there for us. Through the good and the bad, we can always turn to his music.
4. (Examples of #4) “for now we dream together of all that is to follow” , “and every time we close our eyes, they’re yours and mine to treasure” , “as looking down we see eachother; laughing, skimming stones” , and our fav “the word we think but dare not speak, is L O V E, love”
5. Lastly, his voice. For years his fans have said how much we love his voice. He’s a singer for a reason, he has such an amazing voice. It’s soothing and calming, he’s the best at calming us down when we’re freaking out while meeting him; of course he can put us to sleep.
Please let me know if you think I missed one or feel free to add. Sweet Dreams ;)) @Harry_Styles @calm
