I broke up with my ex boyfriend solely because he was broke.

I loved him but would get annoyed at the smallest things; like him coming over to my place and finishing the bottle of Ciroc alone or the bottle of gin.
I would have to buy food and pour him fuel on most occasions.

I& #39;d complain that we never went out on dates and when we did go out,it would be with his best friend and he& #39;d cover the bill.

The guy was smart and ticked all the boxes I wanted in a man.

Months later, I broke up with him.
I realised way too late that I& #39;d made a mistake.

I wished that I had been more patient with him. None of my friends or relatives suggested that I do that when I& #39;d complain to them....

Its all my fault tho. Lost a really good man.

Months later, he found a job and I was one of the first people he called.

I was so happy for him

He then got a better job offer that paid almost twice as much and he came to me for advice before accepting the new post.

I lost a real one...

We need to learn to overlook materialistic things in a relationship and be more patient with our partners.

I learned the hard way.
